Stater selects LicenseWatch
Stater is the end-to-end service provider for the European mortgage market. In its fulfilment of this role, Stater focuses on support for mortgage financiers in the sale, processing and financing of mortgage portfolios. Stater was founded in January 1997 as an independent service provider in the mortgage market, after starting life as part of Bouwfonds Hypotheken. Stater has since grown to become an international force in the market with over 600 employees, a head office in Amersfoort and branches in Leusden, the Netherlands, in Bonn, Germany and Brussels, Belgium. Over one million mortgage loans are under the administration of the Stater Mortgage System. Stater currently handles about 30 percent of all mortgages in the Netherlands and has a growing number of customers in Belgium and Germany.
The software licensing environment at Stater is very complex. Stater has a strong wish that the software usage is in line with software use rights and strives to a high compliancy. So the big question for Stater was how to get more grip on the situation in an efficient manner without the need to outsource. Additionally, Stater had the wish to have the possibility to do "Active Metering". With this active metering application usage will be reported centrally in real time. This allows to measure the "concurrent use" licensing model. This was a crucial demand, since a number of Stater's mission critical applications were licensed in this way.
After evaluation of various tooling and in close cooperation with the license and contract managers at Stater, LicenseWatch was selected because it was the best fit to fulfill the requirements they had. As the only solutions LicenseWatch was able to provide a sufficient answer to the concurrent usage requirement. There was even the possibility to import data from another SAM tool Stater was using previously. This ensured that that Stater was quickly up and running.
The LicenseWatch solution made it possible for Stater to have an operational SAM environment they can run and manage themselves completely and gives them full insight and control over their software and licensing positions.
